Who we are
At our core, we are dedicated to providing mental health care for all ages - at every step of the way. Our clinic aims to create a supportive and nurturing space, ranging from young child therapy, parent training, and family therapy to individual therapy and medication management for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
Our mission is to offer expert and comprehensive mental health treatment with compassionate guidance to individuals as well as their families at every stage of life’s journey.
Meet Our Team
Our team is led by Dr. Ideen “Dean” Kiafar, a board-certified psychiatrist and Chief Fellow of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Stanford University. Dr. Kiafar, or simply “Dean” as he is commonly referred to by his patients, has had extensive training in mental health and global medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology from the University of California, San Diego before earning his master’s degree in global medicine from the University of Southern California, where he had the unique opportunity to work with top officials from the United Nations and UNICEF in identifying deficits in global health care delivery systems and highlighting self-sustainable solutions to address these global disparities. Dr. Kiafar then attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University in Florida and completed his General Psychiatry Residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.
As a California native who also considers Miami as a second hometown, Dr. Kiafar is passionate about incorporating a culturally-competent, humanistic, and patient-centered holistic approach to each individual he treats. He believes it is a basic human right to have equal and equitable access to health care, including mental health care, and takes pride in ensuring that his patients receive the highest standard of care at each visit and feel supported and empowered as they embark on their mental healthcare together. Aside from his clinical interests, Dr. Kiafar is committed to providing mentorship to underserved and disadvantaged youth as well as humanitarian services to underprivileged communities around the world.
